You should read " The Australian Connection"

... because it tells you a lot of Australia. Particulary about the nature. For example the rain forest, the Kangoroo Island, south of Adelaide or the St. Mary's Peak.
The book is written in the past and easy to understand. I found it good, that if you didn't know a word you were able to look at the end of the book, there is a small vokabulary.

I would read the book definitely again, therefore I still can recommend it to YOU!

The Mini Saga ( 50 words) Chapter 9 and 10

After seeing the dolphins everything changed. Joe and Pete drink a lot and they become racist.
Nobody wants to buy the albums from "The Beat Crew" and Dani decides to go to England with Alex, where they establish a new band, called "The Dolphins" and celebrate New Year's Eve together.

Chapter 8 "Up to the Top..."

In my opinion, the 8th chapter was very good and to the end it was amazing, (with the
dolphins). And all people in this book were very happy.
Dani and the band are that because "The Beat Crew"are on "The Chart Show" and number one.

At the end, Alex and Dani were on the beach when they saw a lot of dolphins and Dani said that they were like them. Alex wasn't in the same opinion like Dani, but he didn't say it.
(Why do you think he didn't do that?)

The 7th chapter -> Father and son

" And, of course, Alex understood only to well! "
With this sentence, the author will tell us that Alex can understand why Tom left the family and went to Australia. If Alex would be Tom maybe he had react just like him in the situation, because he had never thought that he would miss his friends and his mother in Enland, when he is in Australia.

My diary entry " written by Tom"
---------------------------------------
Friday, 8 February
Dear diary,
now Alex and I were for four days on the Whitsunday Island. Today I told Alex why I left the family. At first I was very nervous and then really glad about his reaction. And now I am so happy that my son is here in Australia.
Alex is a very clever boy and he looks a little bit like his mum. But when I see him he reminds me so often when I was a young boy.

After I read the 6th chapter

If you ask me Alex was very nervous but also he was sad at the same time.

Later, he was very angry and disappointed about his father and they had a small argument. Alex can't understand that Tom never contact him in the last 16 years.

I was a little bit right when I wrote that Alex ask his father a lot of questions. He didn't asked questions about his life in Australia but he asked him why he never visited him.

(p. 32 l. 2/3) "Wasn't I good enough for you? Didn't you like me?"

Before I read the 6th chapter

I think when Alex speak with his father he will be very excites and nervous, because he hadn't seen him for 16 years. At first Alex won't know what to say or do. But then after a while Alex will ask Tom a lot of questions about his new life in Australia and maybe he will ask him why he never contact him.

Questions about chapter five!!!

1 . Why didn't Terry saw the cow?

2.How much money wants Ron for the help? Do you think it's to much?

3.At the end Alex played a wrong note. Why?

The Australian Connection (chapter four)

In the fourth chapter Alex arrives back to the Connell's where Dani visites him and tells Alex that the band will go on tour to Melbourne for one week and he is welcome. Alex decides to go with them.
On the tour, they have a lot of freetime so Alex and Dani do almost everything together.
Summerland Beach is often full of tourists. Alex showes Dani a mass of people, standing on a platform and looking to the floodlight. There are a lot of penguins with their babies.
Dani says to Alex that they are very sweet, but Alex thinks differently. He finds it cruelty to animals. That was their first disagreement!

But on the end they get well to each other and Dani gives Alex a kiss.

The Australian Connection (chapter three)

In the third chapter visit Alex the Williams family for one week in Adelaide. The family has got four children and one of them is Kevin. Four days Kevin and Alex go to the Kangoroo Island, where they sleep in a tent. Then they go back to Adelaide, pick up clean clothes and then they drive to Wilpena Pound, thats in the Flinders Ranges.
Alex and Kevin climb the 1190 metres high mountain, the St. Mary's Peak. There, Kevin tells him more about Tom so Alex get a better picture from his father.
I was really schocked when I read that Tom pretend that Alex did not exist. If Tom is my father I were very sad.

The Australian Connection (chapter two)

I found the second chapter very interesting, because I got to know a lot of new people where I think they are important. One of the person is Dani, a girl who lives next to the Connell's in Australia and play in the band " The Beat Crew ".
I think the relationship between Alex and Dani will be very interesting, maybe they will fall in love.
When Alex arrived to Sydney airport I was disappointed because Alex dad, Tom Connell, wasn't there and when I found out that Tom is often in London (now he is in London, too) , I felt very angry because he never visited Alex and his mum.

The Australian Connection (chapter one)

My first impression from the book is good, because it is not difficult to read so I can understand a lot and I have not look up for every word.
And I think it would be interesting, because from the English lessons I know many things of Australia.
And in chapter one the young man Alex wants to fly to his dad in Australia!
